Healthy Living for Real This Time

The first Driver's License I was issued listed my weight as 110 lbs. I was a skinny girl! Emphasis on the was. Okay, so it's not like I'm clearly visually overweight, but since I was 16 it seems I've just packed on the pounds, and it isn't sitting well with me, it really hasn't for a while now. Since I graduated from high school I've fluctuated between the 130's and 140's, and clothes are just not fitting the way they used to, shopping isn't even as fun! About a week ago, I topped out at 146 lbs, the heaviest I've ever been. In the past I've made vows to eat healthier or exercise, but it never ended up happening. With my new weight haunting me I decided enough is enough.

Sunday night I got on my Android phone, and looked at the Google Play Store. I'd downloaded a Calorie Counter app before, and wanted to find it again, anything to help me out. I ended up finding a different app by the name of Noom. Noom is a weightless coach app that gives you daily goals, enables you to enter the food you eat each day, enter the exercises you do each day, and even weigh in. The interface of the app is awesome, brightly colored and easy to understand. One of my favorite specs of the app is that you can set it to exercise mode and while you walk, for example, it plays the music already on your phone, and every minute or so lets you know how long you've been going, how far you've gone, the speed your moving, and the calories you've burned. It really roots you on!

I also downloaded the original app I was looking for, My Fitness Pal, which unlike Noom lets you search for anything and everything you ate and tells you the exact calories you've taken in. Noom on the other hand, only lets you pick from something like "Good, Kinda Good, Kinda Bad, and Bad" types of food and how many calories of each. Even though My Fitness Pal lets you record what you ate and the calories you've burned I like Noom for it's Coach and Goals aspects. I just use My Fitness Pal to help me determine the exact calories to tell Noom I ate.

While looking at the Calorie Counting apps, I was looking at the reviews and one person said Noom coupled with another app called Workout Trainer was awesome! So, of course I downloaded Workout Trainer too. Workout Trainer makes this weight loss plan of mine a complete hat trick. The workout app has so many free workouts in any category you can think of, I've been doing Core Abs, and Lower Body Booster Yoga mixed in with some more stretches and walking with Colby!

These apps so far are a godsend. As of Sunday I was 146 lbs, and by Wednesday morning I was down to 139 lbs. That's 7 lbs in 3 days! My coach keeping me going, actually paying attention to what I eat, and doing daily exercises is actually working for me! I am so happy and can't wait to get to my goal weight of 120 lbs. It's going to be hard work but with these apps and my discipline I know it's doable! Did I mention I've never had a workout regiment, so I am incredibly out of shape? If I can do it, anyone can.

You all get my Seal of Approval, 10 times over!!
(Also, did I mention they are all FREE? You can get pro versions, but I didn't need them!)

Until next time,
